Hello, I’m Kara, a lifelong beachcomber, giggler, movie lover and stargazer. I grew up in the 1970s in a house without a TV. That’s when I learned to love to create. I met my husband on a blind date and fell in love with him right then and there. While we were dating, he went to the islands and brought me home a large piece of heart shaped coral that he found on the beach. Thus began a love of searching for heart shaped things in everyday places.
We had two children, who became two teenagers and now they are two young adults. The empty nest came fast!
But we still live in the heart of a state, in the heart of a city, in the heart of a neighborhood. The kids may have grown but we have one cute but naughty dog to keep us grounded. Sound ideal? Well, you should know that 1) I am a sloppy housekeeper; and 2) I wrote this in my pajamas
Heyday Heart is dedicated to my friends who have nagged me incessantly to “start a blog, start a blog…” They knew better than I how much I love to create and write. And they also like to cry and laugh at the same time right along with me. Don’t worry, we don’t take selfies of that!
Visit Heyday Heart for musings about life, a little dose of empty nest humor, travel ideas and notes from my garden.
And follow @HeydayHeart on Instagram too. And above all, share your heyday with me! I look forward to meeting you too.
That is a sweet story. Made me smile.
God bless.
